South African airlines in World Cup price-fixing probe

Six South African airlines due to fly thousands of England supporters to World Cup matches are being investigated for an alleged price-fixing plot.

The carriers, including a partner of British Airways called Comair, are accused of planning to raise fares to increase profits during the tournament.

The South African Competition Commission said it had been shown emails suggesting that all flights during the World Cup would be priced at "peak time rates." The other airlines are 1Time, SA Airlink, Mango and SA Express.
