Spring has sprung a month early, says study

A nationwide study of 24,000 wildlife and plant sightings, found that butterflies came a month earlier and frog spawn appeared two weeks before it was expected.
The survey run by the Woodland Trust and the BBC Springwatch programme compiled the data to build up a picture of the unfolding season and compare it to previous years.

Spring has arrived early in Britain
The Trust said it was concerned as "the changes are so rapid". The results are being hailed as more evidence of global warming.
The records show recent weather in the UK has been extremely mild, and this is the warmest spring since the survey began in 2005.
