Stabbed boy had speech for Cameron

Friends of David Idowu, the pupil who was stabbed to death apparently for wearing the wrong school uniform, today revealed how he was desperate to deliver an anti-knife speech he had written to David Cameron.

David, a 14-year-old pupil from Walworth Academy and the youngest knife crime victim this year, won a school competition with his speech - a plea to teenagers to stop carrying weapons - and was due to take part in a borough-wide round.

Esther Akinsanya, at the Idowu home, told the Evening Standard: "He wanted to give the speech to David Cameron. He thought a lot about it and believed in what he had written."
