Stamp marks Simpsons’ 20th anniversary

The Simpsons have won the US government's stamp of approval.

Crew and voice-cast attended an unveiling of five Simpsons postage stamps in Los Angeles to celebrate the animated show's 20th anniversary.

The 44-cent (33p) first-class stamps, designed by Simpsons creator and executive producer Matt Groening, will feature Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie. Simpsons producer James L Brooks called the honour "surreal".

The stamp is part of a year-long celebration dubbed "Best. 20 Years. Ever" in the lead-up to the anniversary on 14 January next year. There have so far been 439 episodes.
