And this bizarre plea isn't a one-off case. The National Lottery, which has handed out £20billion to good causes, has had scores of strange applications.

One caller wanted funding to build an replica of the Enterprise where Trekkie fans could meet
One man asked for money to run a dinosaur farm while another woman said she had thousands of dead insects which she wanted housed in a museum.
Lisa Quinn from the The National Lottery, said: "We were amazed by some of these requests - especially the one from the Trekkie - but I can categorically confirm that none of them received funding!
Other hopefuls failed to explain how their grant would 'benefit the community,' such as the man who asked for £500 to respray his Ford Capri.
Another caller wanted funding to give her garden a make over. When advised that it had to be available to the wider community, the caller said that she would invite her friends round for a BBQ.
Carole Souter, Chair of the Lottery Forum, said: "We welcome applications for National Lottery funding – but applicants will only get funding for projects that benefit their wider community.
"So, if you ask for funding to go on a nice holiday or to double glaze your home you won't get very far!"
More than 250,000 grants have been awarded across the UK. Successful projects have included developing community radio stations, building playgrounds and helping young carers.
