Stars In Their Eyes contestant and her family 'bludgeoned to death in execution-style murder' by mother's former lover

Kesha Wizzart, 18, who had thrilled Stars In Their Eyes viewers with her singing, had just returned from visiting a university where she hoped to study law.

She was killed with her brother Fred, 13, and their mother Beverley Samuels, a nurse, in savage attacks with a 2lb steel hammer.

Pierre Williams, 33, who had an on-off year-long relationship with 36-year-old Miss Samuels, is accused of murdering all three and sexually assaulting Kesha and her mother before their deaths.

The bodies were found at the family home in Fallowfield, Manchester on July 12 last year by a relative who was concerned at being unable to contact Miss Samuels and borrowed a ladder to look through an upstairs window.

Police discovered a scene of carnage in her bedroom, Manchester Crown Court was told.

Miss Samuels had been hit at least seven times over the head and a bloodstained, steel-headed hammer was found nearby.

The mother of two had been seriously sexually assaulted before she died.

The body of her son, who had also been hit repeatedly on the head, lay on the floor alongside her.

Kesha was found in her bedroom. She had been stripped naked and her wrists tied together before being sexually assaulted and battered to death.

The court heard that Williams was arrested two days later after giving himself up in his home city of Birmingham.

He was carrying a wallet with spots of Fred's blood on it but refused to comment when interviewed by detectives.

Raymond Wigglesworth, QC, prosecuting, said the attacks had striking similarities with two rapes he was accused of carrying out on a former partner in 2003, also after she refused to have sex with him.

Williams had been seen at Miss Samuels's home in the days running up to the killing, the court heard.

He was said to have "stormed off" in a temper when she refused to have sex with him.

The court heard that Kesha normally stayed with her father in another part of Manchester.

She had gone to her mother's home after returning early that morning from visiting a university in London.

The teenager sang on Young Stars In Their Eyes in 2004, the court heard.

She went on to take A-levels in English, philosophy and law, and was planning to study for a law degree.

Williams denies all the charges. The hearing continues.
