Strewth! They're speed dating our girls off us...

Some might call it payback for the drubbing the Aussies took at the Olympics from Team GB.

Last night, 30 Australian men launched a raid on Soho to pinch as many London women as possible and spirit them back Down Under - all with government backing.

It was a speed dating event, hosted by South Australia, where there is a chronic shortage of single females. The 20 women who visited The Warwick praised the quality of the Adelaide bachelors, with a number pairing up afterwards to party into the morning.

The state also hopes to lure skilled women with its 300 days of sunshine a year, 3,148 miles of coastline and renowned vineyards.

Alex Blundell, 26, from Hendon, said: "The quality of men was surprisingly good. I'm definitely considering a move now." But one warning girls: many of the guys live over here, and had responded to an ad in a magazine!
