Student found dead during flat viewing

A student was found dead in her room by her landlord as he showed a prospective tenant around the flat, an inquest heard.

Gaella Wauquier, 21, collapsed and died of a heart attack in her Canterbury home the day before she was due to return to her native France. She had just finished an English degree at the University of Kent.

An inquest at Canterbury coroner's court heard the landlord had been showing the student around the house on 21 June when he knocked on Miss Wauquier's door and got no reply. He found her slumped on the floor.

A post-mortem showed she had suffered from an irregular heartbeat. East Kent Coroner Rebecca Cobb recorded a verdict of death by natural causes.
