Suspect arrested over 'motorcycle rapist' attacks on three British women in Turkey

A suspected serial sex attacker dubbed 'the motorcycle rapist' has been arrested in Turkey after following attacks on four women tourists - three of them British - were targeted.

Hamza Keskin was arrested in the resort of Marmaris after the latest victim gave a detailed description to police.

Keskin, a 36-year-old chef, is alleged to have raped four women over the last three months in the popular Mediterranean holiday hotspot.

The attacker became known as the motorcycle rapist after targeting drunk women tourists walking home from clubs in the early hours of the morning.

A Marmaris police source said: 'The rapist offered these women a lift back to their hotel on his motorbike.

'But when they accepted his offer he sped off up the mountains behind Marmaris and raped them in the forest.'

One of his victims, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, said: 'I feel so stupid for accepting his offer of a lift.

'I was sobbing and begging him to stop but he wouldn't listen. I was terrified he was going to kill me when he'd finished.'

But Keskin calmly offered her a lift back to the hotel after raping her, then asked for £2 to pay for his petrol.

The police source said: 'Two of the British victims were very shocked and did as they were ordered.

'One of the British girls tried to fight back and angered her attacker, who beat her. She suffered a head injury.

'The fourth victim, a Finnish woman, fought her attacker and fled into the woods.

'Our concern is that there may be other victims who have not come forward and reported the incident and we would urge them to do so.'

The first reported attack was in April but the three British women were all assaulted in the last three weeks.

Using internet webcams set up by police, one of the British victims identified Keskin, who has a distinctive mole on the side of his nose.

The other two British women are still in Turkey and attended an identity parade where they picked Keskin out from a line-up.
