Teenager gunned down in gang crossfire had recently proposed to girlfriend

An innocent teenager who was killed in crossfire between rival gangs had proposed to his sweetheart just weeks earlier.

Ryan Bravo, 18, had asked his girlfriend Jennifer to marry him but wanted her to keep it a secret because he was unable to afford a ring.

Yesterday, she added a comment to the pages of tributes to him on the website Gone Too Soon.

Yesterday his father paid tribute to the hard-working student who hoped to become an accountant.

Mr Bravo visited the murder scene at the Costcutter supermarket in Walworth, South East London, where Ryan was killed on Wednesday night as he made his way home with his two brothers and a cousin.

Mr Bravo, who refused to give his first name, said: 'I am Ryan's father. It is very hard to say anything at the moment, but I want to say that Ryan was decent and very hardworking.

'He was studying to be an accountant. He would have gone on to university from there, and me and his mother would have helped him.

'He was not a bad person and he is not mixed up in things like this.

'All we know is that he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.'
