Terry: Forget Jose, Grant's our future

John Terry today called on Chelsea's players and supporters to unite behind Avram Grant.

The Israeli was not the most popular choice to replace Jose Mourinho and has endured a difficult introduction to the job on and off the pitch.

But he was in charge for the second success in a week with the 1-0 win at Bolton yesterday following last week's Champions League victory in Valencia and his management team is beginning to take shape.

Chelsea are set to make an announcement about Henk ten Cate today after the Ajax manager admitted negotiations have taken place with the Dutch club for his release.

They have also been linked with an Israeli army fitness chief, Colonel Avi Moyal, to replace Rui Faria.

Terry warned arrivals face a settling in period and urged the club to hang on to assistant manager Steve Clarke.

"There is always a lot more to come from Chelsea but Avram is trying to do his bit along with Clarke and Brendan Rogers [reserve team manager]," he said.

"We fully respect Grant and are fully behind him. We have to be as we want to move up the table.

"The fans will show their support for him. They are travelling all over the world for us. I have spoken to them and they are fully behind us and Avram.

"Obviously they have great feelings for Mourinho and will always sing his name. Avram is a move forward and they will love him in the future."

Grant showed his independence at Bolton by leaving Andriy Shevchenko on the bench for the second successive game.

Salomon Kalou started the game in the place of the suspended Didier Drogba and scored the winner in the 41st minute before he was replaced by Claudio Pizarro.
