Thames puts works map online

THAMES Water has published an online map showing the full extent of the engineering works it has planned for London.

The £6.5billion plans are expected to cause thousands of roadworks across London as Thames upgrades its systems. The project will run from 2010 to 2015. It includes major sewer works, water mains replacement and work on the London Tideway Tunnel, dubbed the "supersewer".

The plans, which come as Thames announced profits of £323.2million, have been submitted to regulator Ofwat which will make its final decision on them in November next year.
