The day a stranger walked in to tell me I was her father

George Ngyutin runs the Seaport restaurant in Marylebone and was featured in an episode of Jamie Oliver's 2002 TV show Oliver's Twist.
But the 57-year-old's world was shaken when Louise Jones, 33, walked into his restaurant and revealed she was his daughter.
Mr Ngyutin, who has been married for 30 years and has three other daughters, met Ms Jones's mother Sharon when he was 23, working as a pastry chef in Shaftesbury Avenue. When they split up he did not know she was pregnant.
Ms Jones, an estate agent from Sussex, tracked him down after seeing Oliver's show and recognising a photo of him in one of the chef's cookbooks. She went to his restaurant with her two children and husband to explain who she was last year. But after two meetings the father and daughter have not seen each other again.
Mr Ngyutin said: "It is very complicated where I am at the moment. We were supposed to meet all the family together, but we need time. It is very difficult and it is a bit sensitive. I need to take it one step at a time. We will be okay in the long run, it is just very awkward. We will work on it." Ms Jones said: "I know it has come as a bit of a shock to him. He is such a nice, kind man and he took the news very well. I am really pleased I found him - I feel I have come full circle - and it would be great for my children to see their grandfather every now and again."
Ms Jones said she had had a photo of her father for years without realising it - in a copy of The Return Of The Naked Chef she was given in 2000. Speaking about the moment she realised the connection, Ms Jones said: "It sent a shiver down my spine. My dad, who I had so wanted to have in my life, had been there all along."
DNA tests have confirmed they are father and daughter and they plan to meet again this year.
