The Queen supersizes her property portfolio with a McDonald's drive-through restaurant

The Queen has bought her own drive-through McDonald's restaurant, her financial accounts have revealed.

Her Majesty purchased a retail park near Windsor Castle, where the branch of the fast food chain is located, this month.

The Bath Road Retail Park in Slough, which is visible from the Queen's quarters in Windsor Castle, was bought by the Crown Estate for £92million.

The park also contains a B&Q hardware superstore as well as a Comet, Mothercare and JJB Sports.

The news that the Queen has bought the retail park should come as a relief to shop bosses there as the credit crunch takes hold.

A spokesperson for the Crown Estate said: 'We are a reliable purchaser in this difficult market.'

However, it seems unlikely the Queen will drop-in for a Big Mac and fries anytime soon.

A royal source told The Sun: 'I doubt royal courtiers will be sent out for takeaways either.

'However, I'm sure below stairs staff wouldn't grumble.'
