The view from Western Gate, a mansion that went on the market today with a price tag of almost £8 million
The resort is the fourth most expensive place to live in the world and the most expensive seaside town, per square foot, in Britain, with houses costing an average of almost £500,000.
Buyers hoping to snap up the four-bedroom Western Gate will have to dig deep into their pockets; the waterfront home which has a £7,950,000 guide price.

A heated indoor swimming pool, sauna and gym are part of the package with a galleried staircase overlooking the reception hall, a kitchen and breakfast room, family room, dining room, drawing room and four bedrooms, all with en-suites.

The mansion is situated on the millionaire's playground of Sandbanks in Poole, Dorset
There is also a triple garage, games room and landscaped gardens stretching out on to the waterfront.
The house was built in 2001 and features the latest lighting and audio-visual technology with bespoke fittings such as solid oak wall panelling and a hand-built kitchen as well as a CCTV security system.

Neighbours on the exclusive waterfront peninsula include Portsmouth Football Club manager Harry Redknapp.
Keith Fensom of Savills estate agents, which is handling the sale, said: "Whoever is fortunate enough to purchase the property will be owning a site of prime location on the renowned Sandbanks peninsula.
