The resort is the fourth most expensive place to live in the world and the most expensive seaside town, per square foot, in Britain, with houses costing an average of almost £500,000.

Buyers hoping to snap up the four-bedroom Western Gate will have to dig deep into their pockets; the waterfront home which has a £7,950,000 guide price.

Anyone with a few million to spare can enjoy sweeping views of Poole Harbour, Brownsea Island and the Purbeck Hills from the principal rooms.

The mansion is situated on the millionaire's playground of Sandbanks in Poole, Dorset
