Think tank 'to be sued for mosque study'

A think tank close to David Cameron faced claims today that it could be sued over a report on mosques.

Policy Exchange was engulfed in a row after BBC2's Newsnight programme last year questioned a study it had done which alleged that extremist literature was being sold in many mosques across Britain. The BBC highlighted apparent discrepancies in receipts for radical literature.

The Al-Manaar Muslim Cultural Heritage Centre in west London is to sue the think tank, according to The Independent.

Its director Abdulkarim Khalil said last night: "This report has been very widely read. We're determined to clear our name."

Policy Exchange defended its report.
