Joy of size six: Mrs Watson is already back in shape
For Joanne Watson, it happened in a mere five days.
Following the birth of daughter Tallulah, she is already back to her normal weight of 7st 5lb and has no problem squeezing into a pair of size six jeans.
Having said that, the 36-year- old supermum does have more than her fair share of practice at getting rid of the baby bulge - since she now has 13 children.
Mrs Watson, who featured in the Daily Mail at Christmas when we highlighted her problems providing a festive meal for 14, says there is no secret to retaining her remarkable figure. l down
But she concedes that it might have something to do with the work involved in looking after her everincreasing brood.
"I don't really diet after I've given birth," she said at home in Guernsey with husband John, a 42-year-old haulier.
"I do have a real weakness for chocolate and like all mums I definitely indulge while I'm pregnant.
"But I don't put on much weight during each pregnancy as I don't have a huge appetite and afterwards the excess goes very quickly.
"I suppose I'm running around a lot after the children, taking them to school, making their meals and taking them shopping or for walks in the park so they keep me pretty fit."
Mrs Watson, who is 5ft 2in, went up to 8st during her pregnancy with Tallulah, who weighed 6lb.
Her nine other daughters and three sons are Natasha, 18, Bradley, 18, Shanice, 15, Mariah, 12, Georgia, 11, Caitlin, eight, Brittany, eight, Febrianne, six, Charlie, five, Lillyarna, four, Nerilly-Jade, three, and two- year-old Arnie.
The couple also had baby Augustina, who was born prematurely and died when she was less than a day old.
Not once has Mrs Watson had any trouble losing weight after the births.

"I was very surprised after I gave birth to Natasha when I got on the scales," she said.
"The needle went straight to 7st 3lb, which was my pre-pregnancy weight. "It's not something I boast about - it's always just happened. I guess I'm just naturally slim. I certainly burn off the calories with my family."
A day in the Watsons' fourbedroom home starts with a feed for Tallulah at 7am. Then the couple make sure all the other children are getting ready for school.
The smaller ones go to St Martin's Primary at 8.30am, while the older ones go on the bus to Beauchamps Secondary. Mrs Watson then cleans the house and puts on the washing - she does one white and one colours load every day - and takes Tallulah and Arnie shopping or to the park.
Every Friday she does a big weekly food shop of about £150 and every month stocks up on frozen food.
She is back home for 3.10pm when school is finished and washes up the children's lunchboxes.
Tea is on the table for 5pm, while Mr Watson makes the packed lunches for school the next day.
Then once all the younger children are in bed by 9pm, Mr Watson cooks supper for them both and they can flop in the sitting room.
"It is hard work," admits Mrs Watson, 'When we all go out together in our big gold minibus, people look at us in wonder.
"But I love nothing better than spending time with the children since. And amazingly we manage to squeeze everyone under one roof."
