Three weeks after being elected as Mayor and pledging to 'work flat out'... Boris takes a holiday
28 May 2008
Three weeks after being elected Mayor of London Boris Johnson has taken his family to Turkey for a sailing holiday.
Swapping the sober suits of his election campaign for a pair of loud, red and white patterned swimming shorts, the mayor was in a jovial mood when photographed by a fellow holidaymaker.
Newly elected Mayor Boris Johnson holidays with his family on a sailing trip in Turkey after pledging to 'work flat out'
But Mr Johnson's break on the Dalaman coast is bound to raise eyebrows back in the capital, where he pledged to 'work flat out' if voters chose him to oust Ken Livingstone.
Last night the mayor's spokesman said he was in touch with the office twice a day.
Asked to justify his boss's choice of swimwear, he added: 'I can't do that, but whatever he looks like in shorts, I can assure you that he is healthy and fit because he passed his medical ten days ago.
'His legs can't look that bad - he cycles to work.'
