Trinny and Susannah's 'too fussy' uniform is ditched by supermarket Somerfield

After they were asked to create a new uniform for the supermarket chain Somerfield as part of their ITV1 show Undress The Nation, the duo's designs, which they described as "supermarket couture", have been ditched by bosses.
In the December programme Susannah Constantine, 45, and Trinny Woodall, 44, who are notoriously outspoken, had to redesign the uniform for Somerfield's 42,000 supermarket workers. They were filmed sitting in on the annual managers' meeting.

Blow: Fashion 'experts' Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine proudly trumpeted their Somerfield design
After two weeks of research, the programme culminated in a catwalk show, in which store staff paraded the new designs for their colleagues.
The new outfits for women featured navy culottes, flared trousers, green puffed shoulder tops and navy-blue gilets.
The look was finished off with patterned neck scarfs, hats and fitted, striped aprons.
The men had tailored navy blue trousers, green long-sleeved fitted tops, green pinstripe shirts and navy-blue waistcoats.
However, despite gloating over their uniforms, Trinny and Susannah have been told that their outfits are not up to scratch for the store.

Supermarket 'chic': The rejected Somerfield uniform, described by workers as 'fussy and impractical'
One Somerfield worker described the new uniforms as "fussy and impractical".
He told The Mail on Sunday: "The girls' outfits would have been a nightmare to wear to work.
"They were made of thin material and would be a nightmare to keep clean. In winter they would be really chilly."
Last night a spokesman for the supermarket chain said the designs had been dropped because they were not practical for a job that involved stacking shelves.
He said: "We have chosen not to go with their designs. They are not going to be used.
"We wanted something that was practical and feasible for staff, as well as fashionable. We wanted the best designs and the best solutions.
"Trinny and Susannah are used to designing for one person at a time but designing for a workforce of thousands is a different challenge.
"We've gone to a designer who has gone through the whole production process."
He added: "Our staff have to have uniforms that allow them to do a variety of jobs, from serving on the checkouts to stacking baked beans.
"We agreed to participate in the filming but we were already in the process of redesigning our uniforms anyway when they contacted us.
"It was always a possibility to incorporate Trinny and Susannah's designs if they came up with a design that could be incorporated."
The spokesman said: "Like anyone, we got in touch with lots of designers to canvass for ideas. We said we were happy for them to design and we'd see what designs they came up with."
The snub has come as a surprise to the presenters.
During filming Susannah told viewers that she thought the designs were a huge success and described the look as "supermarket couture".
She said: "I felt moved that we achieved what I thought was going to be an impossible task. We did it in the time. We made these guys look sexy and feminine in a uniform. That's quite a result."
The programme makers said the duo's challenge had been "a resounding success. Trinny and Susannah receive the seal of approval from the store. As a result, Somerfield agreed to remodel their uniforms. The new designs are yet to be revealed."
A spokesman for the TV presenters declined to comment.
