Two arrested over schoolboy's bedside shooting

Two men were arrested today over the murder of a 15-year-old boy who was shot dead in his bedroom.

Church-going schoolboy Michael Dosunmu was killed in his home in Peckham, south London, in February.

Scotland Yard said they arrested two men this morning in connection with the murder.

The pair are being held at a south London police station, a Metropolitan Police spokesman said.

Police believe two people forced their way into Michael's home in Diamond Street in the early hours of February 6 and shot him.

The student at St Michael's Secondary School, Bermondsey, was found with a number of gunshot wounds by his older sister, Shakira.

She attempted to administer first aid to her brother, but he was pronounced dead less than an hour later at King's College Hospital.

Police said the suspects escaped and ran off in the direction of Chandler Way, and have renewed their appeal for witnesses and information on the murder.

A £20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for Michael's death.

Six men aged between 15 and 23 were arrested in February over the murder. Four remain on police bail in connection with the inquiry.
