Undercover police woman traps osteopath who sexually assulted patients

An osteopath was today facing a "substantial" jail term after being convicted of a series of sex attacks on women patients - including an undercover police officer.

Owen Bull, 49, of Ipswich, Suffolk, was convicted of attempted rape, indecent assault and sexual assault following a month-long trial at Norwich Crown Court.

Bull, who denied any wrongdoing, was accused of offences relating to seven different women over a three-year period.

Jurors were told how he was arrested after police received complaints and sent in an undercover policewoman for treatment.

The officer told how she used secret recording equipment and captured sound and images of Bull.

She told jurors Bull had begun to rub one of her breasts after she explained that she had an injury to her shoulder.

Bull denied a total of seven charges.

He was found guilty of attempted rape, sexual assault and two counts of indecent assault.

He was found not guilty of one count of indecent assault, and two counts of sexual assault.

Judge Paul Downes adjourned sentencing - for reports - until September 7.

But he told Bull: "Custody is virtually inevitable."

Lawyers said Bull, who was remanded in custody pending sentence, would be given a "substantial" prison term.
