Andrew Snelgrove, 46, is also being sought in connection with wounding and possession of a firearm. He is believed to have fled to Spain after the wounding in Lewisham on 24 June, 1999.
Snelgrove - who also uses the first name Edward - is believed to be one of a number of criminals hiding out in the Alicante region.
Suspects: left to right, Adam Hart, Alan McDonald Gordon, Andrew Arthur Alderman, Anthony Kearney
Dean Lawrence Rice, Dennis Hunter, Donna McCafferty and Shashir Dhar Sahnan
The British fugitives are being targeted as part of an internet campaign launched today by the charity Crimestoppers.
Police hope thousands of ex-pat Britons will turn detective and call the Crimestoppers number to report the criminals. Two years ago Crimestoppers launched its first appeal to find criminals believed to be living on the Costa del Sol.
Among those arrested after the launch of the campaign was Clifford Hobbs, 48, an armed robber who escaped from a prison van as he was being escorted from Brixton jail. In total, 13 out of 30 fugitives have been arrested.
The latest scheme is being co-ordinated by the Serious and Organised Crime Agency. Director general Bill Hughes said: "This is an innovative partnership which is delivering a simple message to criminals: you won't escape to the sun - we will find you."
The latest appeal includes suspects wanted for murder, sex offences, drug trafficking and kidnap. Anyone with information should call the freephone Spanish number 900 555 111 which will be answered in the UK by Crimestoppers.
