WATCH: No fly zone - Barack Obama kills insect on live TV

He may have huge domestic and global problems to deal with, but President Barack Obama had to solve an issue of a different kind during a television interview at the White House today.

The President found himself persistently interrupted by a fly when speaking with CNBC correspondent John Harwood.

With his frustration growing he took matters into his own hands, telling the fly: "Get out of here."

The fly took no notice.

So Obama waited for the fly to settle, put his hand up and then smacked it dead with a single hit.

The president then turned to interviewer Harwood and said: "Now, where were we", before boasting: "That was pretty impressive, wasn't it? I got the sucker."
