We'll be back again soon, say the first satisfied customers

VISITORS to Westfield today gave it their seal of approval.

Shae Campbell, 29, a chef from Hammersmith, said: "I'm really impressed by the whole layout. It's very convenient for us. I normally go into Oxford Street but I don't think I'll bother now because they've got it all here. I'll definitely be back in the next few days. I only live round the corner, it has really impressed me."

Chelsea Bunyer, 22, a waitress from Hammersmith, said: "I'm originally from America and this is bigger than any shopping mall I've seen at home. I would probably prefer street shopping because it has more character but when the weather's bad I'd much rather be indoors. I'll be coming back to do my Christmas shopping here."

Sarah Wise, 47, from Shepherd's Bush, said: "There's a great variety of shops and the transport links are also fantastic so you don't need to bring the car. It would be interesting to see how busy they are over the Christmas period compared with Oxford Street.

"I would normally go shopping in Hammersmith or the King's Road but I like it here because there is more choice and everything is under one roof. This is the kind of place that appeals to kids."

Her son, Harry Wise, 15, said: "I'll definitely be coming back here even if it's just to hang out with my friends.

"I like what they've done with the food hall and there's a cinema. This is quite close to home for me and easy to get to."

Family friend Annabel Clarke said: "I've been so impressed with it that I'm thinking of having my 15-year-old daughter's birthday party here. I'd be happy for my children to come, it seems very safe and it has all the amenities that you need." Kim Ho, 34, a researcher from Earl's Court, bought an Alfred Hitchcock DVD collection which was reduced from £90 to £20 at HMV. Mrs Ho said: "They've got some amazing offers on today. I've been very impressed. It's clean and it's convenient for me to get to with the parking. I'll definitely be coming back. I like the fact you've got the high street and the designer shops all in one place."

Sandra Jackson, 45, from Staines said she had been trying to collect as many free items as possible. She added: "I love seeing all the big name shops in one place. I liked the free champagne as well."
