Ben Carpenter is detatched from the front of the truck
Mr Carpenter, had started to cross at an intersection in Paw Paw, Michigan, where the truck had stopped for a red light. The light changed to green and Ben, who has muscular dystrophy, was shocked when his wheelchair became lodged in the truck's grille.
"He's so low that the truck driver couldn't see him, and the truck headed out," his father Donald Carpenter said.
The bizarre sight caught the attention of motorists, many of whom called authorities on their cell phones.

Mr Carpenter told police: 'It was quite a ride'
An amazed caller told officers from Michigan State Police: "You are not going to believe this, but there is a semi pushing a guy in a wheelchair on Red Arrow Highway."
But Mr Carpenter, who miraculously escaped injury, was apparently unfazed by the incident. "It was quite a ride," he told police.
Later he said: "It was fast, I know that. It's faster than this chair was made to go. I was probably thinking that he is going to keep going, not stop anywhere, go 50-60 miles somewhere."

The wheelchair handles had lodged into the trucks front grill
His father said being pushed down the road by the truck burned most of the rubber off the tires of the wheelchair, but otherwise did not damage it.
The tires have been replaced in time for Mr Carpenter to use his wheelchair at a muscular dystrophy camp this weekend.
