Yoko Ono to shed light on her art at London fair

Yoko Ono is giving the keynote lecture at this year's Frieze Art Fair.

The artist - and widow of Beatle John Lennon - will speak on "passages of light" at the highprofile fair next month.

She will be "demonstrating the continued importance of the performative practices and engagement with audiences that she has pursued since the Sixties", an event spokesman said.

Ono, 75, was a member of the Fluxus and Conceptual Art movements in the Sixties and Seventies. She is known for dramatic performance work such as one where audience members were invited to cut off pieces of her clothes until she was naked.

Her talk is part of a programme of events accompanying an exhibition of art from international galleries. Other speakers include Carsten Holler, the German artist who created the giant slides at Tate Modern.

Frieze, in Regent's Park, opens to the public from 16 to 19 October.
