Hundreds of dining rooms across the capital that have also signed up in support will be displaying the stickers from today to show that tap water will be offered and served without prejudice.
The campaign has been backed by other celebritychefs as well as by large chains such as Starbucks, McDonald's, Strada and Wagamama. Today, customers at Zilli Fish, where bottled water has now been banned, spoke out in favour of tap water. PR assistant Claire Stephens, 20, from Maida Vale, said: "I think it's a great idea because people don't always want to pay and they are made to feel like they're tight because of it."
Big Brother star Ziggy Lichman, 27, said: "I back the campaign 100 per cent. Sometimes waiters do look down on you and you feel you have to have bottled water."
Mr Zilli said: "Nearly all my customers have been overwhelmingly positive."
Restaurants wanting a Water On Tap sticker can join the campaign at www.standard.co.uk.
