David Nowak died from his injuries after he was stabbed in Farleigh Road, Stoke Newington, north London, on December 15.
Detectives arrested 19 people after fighting broke out following a birthday party at a community centre in Shacklewell Road. David was taken to the Royal London Hospital suffering from a knife wound that cut into his liver and a kidney but died hours later.
On Wednesday, Scotland Yard said 12 males aged between 15 and 21 were charged with offences including murder, attempted murder, violent disorder and possession of a weapon.
A spokesman said all of the accused are in custody and will appear at Thames magistrates' court on Thursday.
A 17-year-old man has been rebailed and four males, aged between 15 and 22, have been released with no further action.
Police said a group of young people, including David, were attacked after they left the party.
David was followed into a playground in Somerford Grove and stabbed. All those involved then fled.
Police said three other teenagers also suffered stab wounds during the street brawl. One of them was seriously injured.
A short time later officers stopped a 67 bus in Kingsland High street and arrested a large number of people.
