Body discovered after fire at house

Detectives have appealed for witnesses and information after the discovery of a body following a house fire.

Officers have yet to establish whether the body found in Birmingham is that of a man or a woman, but confirmed that the death was being treated as suspicious.

A West Midlands Police spokeswoman said the fire service was called to the address in Copperbeech Close, Quinton, shortly after 2.30pm on Saturday.

Anyone with information about the fire, or anyone who saw any suspicious or unusual activity near the property, was urged to contact Birmingham's Rose Road police station on 0845 113 5000.
