Body found in hunt for canoeist

Relatives of a teenager who went missing after his kayak capsized are awaiting confirmation that his body had been found.

Sanjai Chauhan, 19, of Harlow, Essex, vanished on Monday afternoon in the River Lea, near Broxbourne, on the Essex and Hertfordshire border.

An Essex Police spokeswoman said divers had discovered a body in the river, thought to be that of the bar worker, on Monday night.

Earlier, Mala Chauhan, the teenager's mother, paid tribute to her son.

She said: "He thought the world of me and would do anything to make me happy.

"But he was also very independent and lived for the day. He enjoyed a thrill and adventure but never to the extreme."
