Boozy Brits spend big on cigarettes

Shoppers spent the most money on Lambert & Butler King Size at £1.379 billion during 2007, putting it in the number one spot.
Coca-Cola came in second place at £940 million, according to trade magazine The Grocer.
Cigarette brands Marlboro King Size Gold, Mayfair King Size and Benson & Hedges King Size Gold took third, fourth and fifth places in the ranking.
The alcohol brands which made it into the top 20 products of 2007 by sales value were Stella Artois, Carling and Fosters.
Total cigarette sales increased by 4.4% in value this year to £9.75 billion, according to The Grocer. But the volume of sales fell by 2% as people smoked fewer cigarettes.
Cathedral City knocked Dairylea off the top spot to be named the UK's best-selling cheese. And Lurpak toppled Flora from the top of the butter and spreads sales ranking after nearly 20 years.
Healthy brands such as Innocent Drinks and Danone Activia yoghurts enjoyed strong growth this year.
Warburtons bread enjoyed the strongest growth of any brand, with sales up 16% year-on-year to £472 million.
The Grocer magazine ranked products sold across 72 product categories according to their retail sales value. Figures were gathered by using a Scantrack service which monitors sales at tills of major supermarket chains, off-licences, Co-ops, independent stores, garage forecourts and other grocery shops.
