A teenager is being treated in hospital after being shot with what is believed to be a pellet from an air weapon, police said.

Greater Manchester Police were called to Arnott Crescent in Hulme, Manchester, at 7.30pm on Saturday.

The 13-year-old was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary and his injuries are not believed to be serious, although it was understood he would remain in hospital for observation.

Police said no arrests have been made.
