A British woman and a boy have died in a car crash in Bulgaria.

Another British boy was injured in the accident on Friday in the Black Sea resort of Varna, which also killed a Bulgarian adult in the car.

According to local reports, the fatalities were a 13-year-old British boy and his aunt, aged 55. The injured boy was aged nine, while the Bulgarian victim was 76.

Their car was hit by a bus on the road, the Standart website said.

A spokesman for the Foreign Office said next of kin had been informed.

"We are providing consular assistance," a spokesman said.
