Boy charged over youth's stab death

A boy has been remanded in custody charged with the murder of a teenager who was stabbed to death after youths clashed at a birthday party.

The 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Sheffield's Youth Court charged with murdering 18-year-old Dale Robertson.

The boy is accused of stabbing Mr Robertson to death after trouble flared at a girl's 16th birthday party in Parson Cross, Sheffield on Saturday night.

Mr Robertson, of Ecclesfield, Sheffield, was stabbed in the chest and died from his injuries in hospital.

It is thought a large number of youths had attended the girl's birthday party when troubled started.
