Boy's murder 'like a horror film'

The popular student was struck by a glass dish which shattered and severed blood vessels in his neck, sending blood squirting all over a baker's shop, the Old Bailey heard.
Jake Fahri, 19, of Lee in south London, denies murdering the 16-year-old in May last year.
The row which led to the boy's death was no more than a trivial encounter, Crispin Aylett QC, prosecuting, told the court.
Fahri was enraged when 6ft 2in Jimmy would not move out of his way, said Mr Aylett.
"The defendant then grabbed a glass Pyrex-type dish from the counter and threw it at Jimmy. The dish hit Jimmy on the jaw," he said. "The defendant had thrown the dish so hard that it broke on impact. A shard of glass cut into Jimmy's neck and into the jugular vein and severed the carotid artery, one of the main blood vessels to the brain.
"One of the staff at the bakery has described it as being like a horror film - blood was spurting from Jimmy's neck."
Jimmy had gone into the Three Cooks Bakery near his home in Lee, south London, the day after his birthday in May last year, with his older brother Harry.
After Fahri had begun to reach for "any and every" available weapon, their elder brother Tommy was summoned. He arrived in time to cradle Jimmy in his arms as he was dying, the court heard.
Their mother, Margaret, rushed to the shop and fainted when she saw what happened.
