Dozens of travellers can be seen running in terror as the Jeep crashed into a doorway of the main terminal building.
Some passengers were pushed over and injured as people tried to escape in panic, the prosecution said. Many travellers abandoned their luggage but others caused trolley pile-ups at doorways in the mayhem.
Woolwich Crown Court heard how long queues of passengers were waiting to travel on June 30, 2007, the airport's busiest day of the year.
Jonathan Laidlaw QC said Islamic extremist Kafeel Ahmed, 28, was at the wheel of the improvised car bomb. He said the vehicle was prepared with gas cylinders and petrol in the same way as two Mercedes cars left in London's West End the previous day.
Mr Laidlaw said the vehicle became stuck, despite Ahmed's attempts to ram his way inside. He said Ahmed threw petrol bombs out of the window before dousing himself in fuel and catching fire. One camera showed the vehicle being engulfed in flames which quickly spread to the building in the minutes before firefighters arrived.
Bilal Abdulla, 29, and Mohammed Asha, 28, are on trial accused of conspiracy to murder and to cause explosions. The two men, who worked as doctors at NHS hospitals in Glasgow and Staffordshire, deny the offences.
Abdulla was a passenger in the Jeep and attempted to fight off police and bystanders, the jury was told. The doctor was arrested at the scene but only after one man lost a tooth and suffered a broken leg as he tried to help police.
Ahmed, an engineering student, died several weeks later from burns he suffered in the attack.
The footage related to evidence heard on Friday but was only released on Monday because of technical problems.
