Women from the city have an ample average bosom of 34E, retailer Debenhams has found. But the women of Birmingham have much smaller assets, with an average size of 34A.
The fashion store looked at all of their bra sales between April and October this year to discover the average bust size for different towns.
Newcastle comes a close second, with an average bra size of 34DD, while Manchester takes third place at 36D.
Annette Warburton, Debenhams' Head of Lingerie Buying, said: "The most common size in Liverpool stands at a plentiful 34E, reflected in local busty celebrities, Abby Clancy and Coleen Rooney.
"In London, the average falls to a still impressive 34D. On the small but perfectly formed side of the map is Southampton with an average size of 34B and Birmingham coming in 34A".
Body weight, age and the popularity of breast enhancement surgery in certain cities are some of the reasons for regional diversity, the report said.
It also includes pregnancy, the hormones in the contraceptive pill and even the local water. According to the study at least 70% of women are still wearing the wrong sized bra.
Annette Warburton added: "We currently bra fit over 250,000 women each year. With the increasing awareness, we believe that we'll see even more dramatic variations in bust size over the coming years.
"The majority of British women still believe themselves to be a 34B."
