Deported 'Nazi' arrives in Germany

Suspected Nazi death camp guard John Demjanjuk has arrived in Germany where he faces a warrant accusing him of being an accessory to the murder of 29,000 Jews and others at Sobibor.

The retired Ohio car worker was deported from the United States and arrived on a private jet at Munich's airport.

Ukrainian-born Demjanjuk claims he was a Red Army soldier who was captured by the Nazis and spent the rest of the war as their prisoner.

But prosecutors say there is proof he was a guard at the Sobibor death camp in occupied Poland.

The 89-year-old will now be taken before a judge and formally arrested.

He also has to undergo a medical evaluation to see if he is fit to stand trial.
