DIY staff face web pictures inquiry

Staff at a DIY store could be facing disciplinary action after pictures showing them wearing nothing but their work aprons were posted on an internet networking site.

Videos showing workers play-fighting in the aisles of B&Q, in Hartcliffe, Bristol, were also put up on Facebook, it has been claimed.

The company has launched an internal inquiry after bosses saw the images, which have now been removed from the site.

Former B&Q employee Louise Clark, 18, told the Bristol Evening Post: "There was one kid who was known for being quite funny, he filmed people pretend fighting with his mobile phone.

"Management didn't like it. They thought it was offensive, but I didn't think it was."

A spokesman for B&Q said: "We are aware of certain postings on a social networking site which contained inappropriate comments about B&Q.

"As these postings were apparently made by some of our employees, we are carrying out inquiries into the matter.

"This may result in disciplinary action being taken in accordance with the company's procedures, but until our inquiries are complete we are unable to comment any further."
