Andrew is hosting a special anniversary dinner for 820 Naval Air Squadron at Buckingham Palace 25 years after they fought together.
A quarter of a century ago in March 1982, the squadron dined at the Palace just a month before they were sent to the South Atlantic with HMS Invincible after the outbreak of war.
Andrew is the last member of the royal family to see action in a conflict zone.
He flew his helicopter as a decoy target, trying to divert deadly Exocet missiles away from British ships.
Army chiefs are currently considering the Iraq deployment of his nephew Prince Harry, who wants to pursue a life in the military like the Duke.
On March 28 1982, five Argentine warships were sighted near South Georgia and just days later the Argentine Navy and thousands of troops landed on the islands.
On April 22, the British task force moved into Falklands waters.
More than 900 people died during the 74-day war, including 255 British servicemen, 655 Argentines and three islanders. The 820 squadron flew over 4,700 hours during the conflict.
The Duke spent 22 years in the Royal Navy, leaving in 2001.
