EU leaders tackle cash crisis

Gordon Brown will host a crunch summit with European leaders to discuss the economic crisis next week, it has emerged.

The Prime Minister, French President Nicolas Sarkozy and EU Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso are due to hold talks with international business figures in London.

The Global Europe Summit is taking place a few days before the EU Council in Brussels, where leaders are due to consider the next moves in their response to the downturn.

The G20 group of major and developing economies will meet in London in April to hammer out details of reforms to world financial institutions.
