Liam Clarke was found in a park in Cefn Glas, Bridgend, south Wales, on December 27 last year.
One of Mr Clarke's friends, 17-year-old Natasha Randall, was also found hanged last week - the 13th young person suspected to have committed suicide in the county in the past 12 months.
Police investigating her death said there was no evidence to link it to the others, but admitted they were "concerned".
Before her death, Natasha had left a farewell message to Mr Clarke on social networking website Bebo, and her computer is now being examined by police.
Mr Clarke's father Kevin said it was "mind-boggling" that so many young people had died.
He said: "It could be a coincidence. Being with Liam the afternoon before he decided to kill himself, he was just as normal as I have ever known him.
"There was nothing untoward which you could say was bothering him. I don't think they (the deaths) are linked and I don't think the Bebo website is linked to it either.
"We will never discover what caused it. He had everything going for him. It is just mind-boggling why so many young people are taking their lives."
Natasha left a message on her page on Bebo to Liam reading: "RIP Clarky boy!! gonna miss ya! always remember the gd times! love ya x."
