Fifth youth charged over death

A fifth teenager has been charged with the murder of an 18-year-old man who was stabbed to death after youths clashed at a party.

The 17-year-old man, from the Sheffield area, will appear at Sheffield Magistrates' Court on Friday accused of murdering Dale Robertson.

Four other youths, three men aged 17 and one aged 16, were remanded in custody earlier when they appeared at Sheffield Youth Court charged with murder.

Mr Robertson, of Primrose Drive, Ecclesfield, Sheffield, was stabbed in the chest when violence broke out at a girl's 16th birthday party on September 6.

It is believed a large number of youths had attended the party, on Rokeby Drive, in the Parson Cross area of the city.

Mr Robertson was taken to hospital where he died from his injuries.

A 16-year-old boy who was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the killing has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
