Ewan Williamson, 35, became the first member of Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service to die while fighting a fire when he was killed while tackling the blaze at the Balmoral bar in Edinburgh on July 12.
Tributes will be paid at a funeral service in Edinburgh's St Giles' Cathedral, including from the region's chief fire officer Brian Allaway, and about 650 people are expected to attend.
The service will be conducted by moderator of the Presbytery of Edinburgh Reverend Peter Graham, while city Lord Provost George Grubb will speak at the funeral. Scottish justice secretary Kenny MacAskill and community safety minister Fergus Ewing will be among the mourners.
About 70 firefighters including Mr Williamson, who was based at Edinburgh's Tollcross fire station, attended the severe blaze and at least 20 people were rescued from flats above the pub.
Another firefighter, 29-year-old Oliver Carrigan, was injured.
Mr Carrigan and other members of the station's Green Watch will be the pallbearers.
The coffin will be carried to the church on board a fire engine, passing Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service headquarters.
Hundreds of firefighters will accompany the coffin along the route, and before it is carried into the cathedral the chief fire officer will give a final salute.
Mr Williamson's family and friends will attend a private service in Kinross, Perthshire, before the service in Edinburgh. After the cathedral service, another private service will be held in the city's Mortonhall Crematorium.
