The girl was found unharmed in the semi-detached house in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire, following Tuesday night's "targeted" attack.
Hertfordshire Police are searching for two Asian men in their late teens or early 20s of slim to medium build. The pair were last seen making off from the scene at Plaw Hatch Close in a small red car.
Police described the shooting as "a disturbing but targeted incident".
The males killed were aged 17, 33 and 52, and the injured women were 54 and 23.
Police have not yet revealed the identities of the victims and the relationships between them are unknown.
Police arrived at the scene at 9.45pm after receiving a telephone call.
Chief Superintendent Al Thomas, the area commander for east Hertfordshire police in Bishop's Stortford, said: "We don't underestimate the impact of these murders.
"We share the concern and sense of shock within the community. Early information suggests this was a targeted incident and not a random attack."
He said they had increased the visible police presence around the scene and in the town and added that there was no evidence of a trend of escalated violence in the area.
