Gun, knives seized in schools brawl

A gun and two knives were seized from school pupils after police stopped a fight involving 60 youths at a fast food restaurant.

Teenagers from two schools met at a MacDonald's restaurant in Plymouth, Devon for what police believe was an organised fight.

A Devon and Cornwall Constabulary spokesman said they were able to disperse the group at around 1pm on Tuesday before the brawl started.

The teenagers were searched and a G2000 Repeater 1.77-calibre air pistol was seized along with a bladed craft-knife and a kitchen knife.

A 17-year-old has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon and bailed to appear before Plymouth Magistrates at a youth court on July 28.

A 16-year-old has been released on bail to return on August 19.
