Husband of royal florist found dead

The husband of Prince Charles' personal florist was found dead in a river estuary, it has emerged.

David Lowe, 52, husband of Sarah Champier-Lowe, was discovered by the coastguard after his body was spotted in water near the mouth of the River Brue and Parrett, in Somerset.

Mr Lowe lived in Tetbury, Gloucestershire, with his wife, the resident florist at the Prince of Wales' nearby residence of Highgrove.

Mr Lowe, a BT Telecoms training officer, was last seen by his colleagues in Chippenham, Wiltshire, on April 29, but it was not until May 25 that his body was discovered.

Gloucestershire Police issued four public appeals in May to track Mr Lowe, including images of his black Vauxhall Astra Estate, found by officers on May 2 at Severn View Services, near the Severn Bridge, on the M48 motorway.

Staff at the West Somerset Coroner's office confirmed the body discovered near Burnham Sailing Club was identified as Mr Lowe and family had been informed.

Police said they are not treating the discovery as suspicious.

Ms Champier-Lowe started work at Highgrove 10 years ago, arranging flowers for an event at the Orchard function room. A few months after her first job she was offered the full-time position of arranging flowers for the house and travelling to other Royal residences as well.

She also provides the flowers and plants for the new Highgrove Shop in Tetbury, where she undertakes commissions for floral creations.

Mr Lowe lived with Ms Champier-Lowe and her daughters Laura, 25, a gym instructor, and Lydia, 18, a trainee manager at the shop on the Highgrove estate.
