The 83-year-old former Prime Minister was admitted to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, west London, on Friday after injuring herself in the fall at her London home.
She will be seen by doctors on Monday who will decide if she is well enough to return home.
Her spokesman described her condition as "comfortable", adding: "She will be in hospital at least until Monday when doctors will reassess her condition."
Earlier her son Sir Mark, who paid a brief visit to the hospital, had said she was in "good spirits".
Sir Mark said: "She had a very good night and was relaxed and slept well. She has had some painkillers but was in very good order and had a bit of mischief about her."
Sir Mark, asked when his mother was likely to leave hospital, said: "That is entirely a matter for the clinicians and we will have to wait and see."
Doctors decided to keep her in as a precaution, having initially decided to discharge her on Friday. A spokeswoman for the hospital explained it was for observation.
Speaking on Friday, she said: "It's a simple fracture, but bearing in mind who she is, she's 83 and the shock to the system, it's just belt and braces. There is nothing untoward."
