Man arrested under Terrorism Act

A man has been arrested on suspicion of offences under the Terrorism Act.

The police Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) in Leeds confirmed the 31-year-old, from Goole, East Yorkshire, was arrested in Dundee at 1.30am.

He is being transferred to West Yorkshire for questioning by CTU officers.

Another 31-year-old from Goole was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of offences under the Terrorism Act 2000.

Potentially explosive material was seized from a house in the town centre.

The immediate area was cordoned off while a search was carried out.

The man is in police custody after a warrant allowing him to be held for a further seven days was approved by a court on Friday.
