The 44-year-old was detained at his home in Nuneaton on Thursday in connection with the shooting of biker Gerry Tobin.
He has been bailed to return to Nuneaton police station on December 5 pending further police inquiries.
Earlier, three men appeared in court charged with murdering Mr Tobin, 35, on the M40 motorway in Warwickshire on August 12.
Malcolm Bull, 52, Karl Garside, 44, and Ian Cameron, 45, spoke only to confirm their identities during the hearing at Nuneaton Magistrates' Court.
Garside, of Silverdale Close, Coventry, Cameron, of no fixed address, and Bull, whose address cannot be given for legal reasons, were remanded in custody to appear at Birmingham Crown Court on October 15. No applications for bail were made.
Mr Tobin, a mechanic, was returning from the Bulldog Bash bikers' festival at Long Marston, near Stratford-upon-Avon, when he was killed with a single shot to the back of the head near Junction 12 of the motorway.
After emigrating to Canada when he was two, Mr Tobin returned to the UK about 10 years ago and worked at a Harley Davidson dealership.
He lived with his fiancee, Rebecca Smith, 25, in a flat just yards away from the garage in Mottingham, south London.
Four other men have also been charged in connection with Mr Tobin's death. Three are accused of murder while the fourth was charged with a firearms offence. They will enter pleas when they appear at Birmingham Crown Court on November 26.
